First saw Conte with Stan Kenton around 1952 or 1953...Will never forget him being featured on a little known chart "Cool Eyes"....I have all the Kenton recordings from the beginning through the last; including some of the 16" "Concert In Miniture" discs done for the Armed Forces Radio Network, so i have all the Kenton recordings that Conte was on....i also have a couple of Conte's LPs, and all the Lighthouse All-Stars recordings.......i've always enjoyed Conte's playing....now he and Maynard are playing with all the great musicians that we've lost here on earth

I first heard Pete when playing with Henry Mancini when I was in school, Peter Gunn era. Since then, Many Wonderful hours of listening to the brothers. |

Conti was such a master of the trumpet! I was saddened when I first heard of his passing but know that as long as "his" music and his way of playing it are loved, he'll be there. I studied trumpet at Westlake College of Modern American Music, Hollywood, CA beginning in 1959 and suffice it to say that Conti's solos were studed from the early fifties with the same dedication as Arban's. "Pennies From Heaven" with Stan was a revelation to me as was "Portrait Of A Count" from New Concepts. The Brothers Candoli still are high on my play-lists at home. Thank you to Conti...and Pete (aka "Superman")

I first heard Pete watching Peter Gunn, have been a fan ever since.When I see his or Conti's name, I listen. Conti's "Iremember Clifford" is one of my favorites.

The Guestbook went down today. I had to retype everyones comments. I hope I have not missed anyone on the copy I had. The times are omitted from the begining pages, but the dates go back to 2005, 2006, 2007.
It is working fine now, be sure and express your thoughts, Pete and I read them all the time....
